What effect did the Licencing Act have?
meant you needed a licence to sell alcohol and meant pubs had fixed opening and closing times. Lead to the working class being annoyed as alcohol was one of their few elements of pleasure and one of the things they can afford to do for pleasure. Benefitted society as made Britain safer.
What effect did the Public health Act 1872 have?
it benefitted the living conditions in Britain and benefitted general health and made it harder for disease to spread and benefitted the working class

it laid down the minimum standard of drainage sewage disposal and tried to impose a medical health officer to do checks on parts of the country
When was the Artisans dwellings act and what effect did it have?
1875- it gave power to the local authority to purchase clear and then develop slums. It was put in place due to too many poor people living in jerries.
When was the Sanderson’s Education Act and what effect did it have?
1876- It advocated the principle that children should receive elementary education however wasn’t made compulsory and not all the places were free.

it limited the hours worked by children to 6 and 1/2 with 3 hours used for schooling and meant that children under the age of 9 couldn’t work in mills.
