Define Hawthorne effect
Hawthorne effect: when people change their behavior due to effects of being observed
What is Attrition ?
Attrition effects: are when participants drop out of a study for several reasons such as lack of interest, a change in status, or scheduling conflicts.
what is class consciousness ?
refers to members of an exploited group who are actively aware of themselves as an exploited group, so they will join together to help one another as a community (functionalist concept)
Define False consciousness?
when members of an exploited group see themselves as individuals rather than a group.
what is common consciousness?
is Durkheim’s term where a society shares values, beliefs, and/or social norms that connect members to one another
