the idea that the government is too controlling

An economic system based on competition

When men hold the primary power

The idea that human behaviour must be studied in the context of social system
What is consensus theory?
That people should work together for a better society
What is conflict theory?
The idea that one group in society is marginalising another group
What is Marxism?
The idea that the world is split into two classes, the bourgeoisie and the proletariat and that the bourgeoisie is marginalising the proletariat
What is liberal feminism?
A group of people that equality between men and women can be achieved slowly via the law
What is Radical feminism?
A group of people who believe that equality must be achieved rapidly and that the patriarchy must be destroyed
What are Marxists feminists?
A group of people that believe that both the patriarchy and bourgeoisie are exploiting them based on them being women
What are black and difference feminists?
They are a group of people who believe they are being oppressed by both the patriarchy and by racism
What is functionalism?
The idea that if a certain part of society works it should remain, they are also considered part of march of progress scholars
What is the New Right
They are a group of people who are very conservative and they follow Neo-liberal/ free market economics, they also hate the nanny state
What is anomie?
The complete breakdown of society
What are social-democrats?
Social democrats are people who believe socialism can be implemented in a democratic way whilst also humanising capitalism via improving human rights
What are Neo-Liberals?
Those who believe in free market economics and that the government should not intervene in it
What is an extended family?
When more than two generations live together
What is polygamy?
When someone has more than one partner
What is Democracy?
A system of government where the people elect their representatives and government
