Structural Functionalism
a theory that sees society as a complex system whose parts work together to promote solidarity and stability.
Symbolic Interactionism
a theory that focuses on how individuals interact. .
Conflict Theory
a sociological perspective that views society as a system of power dynamics and conflict.
Empathy
the ability to understand and share the feelings of another person.
Sympathy
Sympathy is more of a feeling of pity for another, Sympathy is acknowledging someone else’s suffering.

an already thought out evaluation of another person based on their characteristics.
Discrimination
the process of making unfair or prejudicial distinctions between people based on the groups or classes

means recognizing that we do not all start from the same place and must acknowledge and make adjustments to imbalances.

the state of being equal in status, rights and opportunities.
Social Justice
the view that everyone deserves equal economic, political and social rights and opportunities.
Scapegoat Theory
an analysis of violence and aggression in which individuals undergoing negative experiences (such as failure or abuse by others) are assumed to blame an innocent individual or group for causing the experience.
Authoritarian Personality Theory
suggests that some people have a personality disposition that makes them more inclined to favor and submit to authority, while also being intolerant of those who challenge established norms. It emphasizes traits like submission to authority, aggression towards perceived threats to authority, and a strong adherence to conventional social norms. The theory was developed in the 1950s to explore the psychological characteristics associated with individuals susceptible to authoritarian ideologies.
