Responsible for interfacing the various weapon and sensors with CMS in order to relay orders, control commands, health management and equipment status. It does this by translating the data into TCP/IP protocol.

Situational awareness

Answer 2

Controls the sensors and performs track management via the system track manager. It uses the best sensor method of data fusion (process of combining multiple sources of information) which uses a prescribed prioritized list to determine which sensors information will be used to represent a contact.

Priority hierarchy: FCR, 3D, 2D, x n s band

Also controls threat evaluation module.

Tactical operations

Answer 3

Responsible for mission planning. Based on specific doctrine stored in the SW portion will dictate how CMS will react to various combat situations. CMS will then recommend those reactions to the AWWO or UWWO should a situation arise!

Tactical execution

Answer 4

Performs weapon assignment, engagement planning, and kill assessment according to the prescribed doctrine.
