What is necessary for justifying faith? What is not necessary?
Knowledge, Assent, and Trust are necessary. But one mustn’t know everything.
Sola Fide Defined
“We are forgiven our sins and counted righteous in God’s sight solely by trusting in Christ.”
1) Context: moral standing before God, not man - “in God’s sight”
2) Negative aspect: sin or debt is removed
3) Positive aspect: crediting of righteousness
4) Means of justification: faith alone in Christ alone
