Abductor digiti minimi
Flexor digitorum brevis
Medial tubercle of calcaneum
Plantar apo, med&lat intermuscular septum.
Four tendons, lat 4 toes, 2 slips, middle phalanx margin.
Medial plantar nerve
Abductor hallucis
Medial tubercle of calcaneum, flexor retinaculum, deep fascia, med intermuscular septum.
Fuses with med portion of flexor hallucis brevis, med side of base of proximal phalanx of great toe.
Medial plantar nerve
Abductor digiti minimi
Med&lat tubercles of calcaneum, lat intermuscular septum, deep fascia.
Fuses with flexor digiti minimi brevis, lat side of base of proximal phalanx of little toe.
Main trunk of lateral plantar nerve
Muscles of second layer
Tendons of flexor digitorum longus, flexor hallucis longus.
Flexor digitorum accessorius
Lunbricals
Flexor digitorum longus
Check back of leg
Flexor digitorum accessorius
Med head: large, med concave surface of calcaneum. Lat head: smaller, in front of lat tubercle of calcaneum.
Inserted: lay side of tendon of flexor digitorum longus.
Main trunk of lat plantar nerve.
Lumbricals
From tendons of flexor digitorum longus.
Pass forwards on medial sides of metatarsophalangeal joints of lateral four toes, then dorsally for insertion into extensor expansion
Flexor hallucis longus
Check back of leg
Muscles of third layer
Flexor hallucis brevis
Adductor hallucis
Flexor digiti minimi brevis
Flexor hallucis brevis
Y shaped tendon: lat limb- med part of plantar surface of cuboid bone
Med limb- tendon of tibialis post.
Splits into two, side of base of proximal phalanx of great toe
Adductor hallucis
Oblique, transverse head.
Lat side of base of proximal phalanx of big toe.
Deep branch of lateral plantar nerve, which terminates in this muscle
Flexor digiti minimi brevis
Base of fifth metatarsal bone, sheath of tendon of peroneus muscle.
Lat side of base of proximal phalanx of little toe
Superficial branch of lateral plantar nerve
Muscles of the fourth layer
Plantar interossei
Dorsal interossei
Tibialis posterior
Peroneus longus
Plantar interossei
Based and medial side of third, fourth and fifth metatarsal.
Medial sides of bases of proximal phalanges and dorsal digital expansion of 3,4,5 toes
1&2: deep branch. 3: sup branch of lat plantar.
Dorsal interossei
Adjacent sides of metatarsal bones
Bases of proximal phalanges and dorsal digital expansion
Tibialis posterior
Check back of leg
Peroneus longus
Check leg
Medial plantar nerve
Origin, branches- muscular and cutaneous
Lateral plantar nerve
Origin, main branch, med&lat branch of superficial, deep branch
Lateral plantar artery
Larger, superificial branch at 5th metatarsal and then continues as plantar arch. Muscular Cutaneous Anastomotic Calcanean
Plantar arch
Base of 5th metatarsal, proximal part of 1st intermetatarsal space, b/w 3rd and 4th layers of sole.
4 plantar metatarsal arteries- each 2 plantar digital branches
3 proximal perforating arteries
Talipes calcaneus
Talipes equinus
Talipes varus
