A

June - Auld Alliance renewed (new King of France), increased French aggression led to Somerset strengthening the defences around Boulogne and Calais, Henri II sent a fleet and 4,000 troops to Scotland

September - Somerset chose to invade Scotland with 18,000 troops and 4,500 cavalry vs 20,000 poorly equipped Scottish militia (Battle of Pinkie Clough - WON)

Somerset chose to garrison Scotland but did not take the campaign any further (didn’t take Edinburgh or Dunbar as he could have done)
