Macbeth encounters the witches twice in this play, first time the witches come to Macbeth, yet the second time Macbeth visits the witches despite being king. This shows Macbeth who is king, who is known as God’s representative on earth (as he is king) not going to God for help but instead the witches who symbolise evil and idolise hellish behaviour motivated by the devil. Juxtaposes how a king should be behaving, therefore showing how Macbeth is not the rightful heir to the throne
