The Gulf
A gulf is a large inlet from the ocean into the landmass, typically with a narrower opening than a bay, but that is not observable in all geographic areas so named. The term gulf was traditionally used for large highly-indented navigable bodies of saltwater that are enclosed by the coastline
Inlet
an indentation of a shoreline, usually long and narrow; small bay or arm.
Flipper
abroad, flat limb, as of a seal or whale, especially adapted for swimming.
Sei whales
a rorqual, Balaenoptera borealis, inhabiting all seas: now greatly reduced in number.
Rorqual
any of several whales of the genus Balaenoptera.
