Pilots SHALL not fly at night as PIC, unless they are night current. To be current, a pilot SHALL have flown a minimum of 2.0 hours within 45 days. Squadron COs may authorize day into night between 45-60 days.
After 60 days, currency SHALL be regained by flying with a current night PIC

All pilots SHALL receive a course rules brief and fly a local FAM flight at LERT as copilot

Prior to flying as PIC in the local area at night, pilots SHALL fly a local area night flight with a night current HAC.

Before being scheduled as a single SO at LERT?
Aircrewman SHALL receive a local area course rules brief and local area fam flight with an aircrewman familiar with the local area
LSO Designation

For embarked DETs, LSOs SHALL be designated in writing by the ship’s CO for deployment.
Short evolutions: LSO does not need to be designated by ship’s CO, but SHALL brief the CO or OOD prior to DLQ evolutions
Night DLQ currency lapsing while at parent squadron’s home base: requirements
Pilot’s SHALL conduct an OFT (not an option) or night FDLPs within 30 days of scheduled DLQ requalification.
SHALL complete no fewer than three evolutions.
Should be conducted with the same aircrew expected to participate during DLQs.

Aircrewmen who have not conducted free deck landings (should) be accompanied by an aircrewman that has conducted free deck landings
Reasons for DET to do ISATT type exercises outside of ISATT

Pre-embarkation Proficiency
Pilots (should) fly a minimum of 9.0 hours within the 45 days preceding fly-on for an underway period.
SHALL obtain night currency & INST currency prior to embarkation flight.
<45 days between embarked ops, pilots (should) fly a minimum of 6.0 hours and achieve night and INST currency prior to next embarkation
Night coupler currency

PIC SHALL have flown TWO windline rescue or Night/IMC dip-to-dip patterns to automatic approaches to a coupled hover AT NIGHT within 60 days.
If not, SHALL not be scheduled to fly night SAR missions
INST currency
SHALL have flown a minimum of 2.0 hours of simulated or actual instrument time within 60 days.
