Q

The Big Bang Theory (formation of the universe)

A

• Before the big bang (14 billion years ago):
• The entire universe was smaller than a pinhead.
• It was extremely hot and dense.
• It then exploded creating time, space and matter.
• The universe expanded.
1st piece of evidence for the big bang
• In 1964, an energy called ‘cosmic background radiatio 2nd piece of evidence for the big bang
• Edwin Hubble and Vesto Slipher discovered that the universe is expanding.
