specifically the principles of Module 4 Flashcards

I making this one because I suck and my short term memory will be the death of me.

Q

What is Bernoulli’s Principle

A

Fluid velocity will increase when the flow of a fluid is restricted.

Bernoulli sounds like a pasta, sometimes pasta is hollow like macaroni, when I boil macaroni and take a piece out to try to see how flimsy it it to my liking, i blow the boiling water out the macaroni to make sure my mouth isn’t burned, the tube is small so when i blow through the hole, the water comes out quickly at a high velocity.

Q

What is Archemedies Principle?

A

The Buoyant force on an object is equal to the weight of the fluid dispalced by the object.

When it means the weight, it means the weight of the amount of fluid that gets moved when something is put in the fluid, so like if a baseball is tossed in the water, the buoyant force(which is the force at which the water pushes up the object in the water) is equal to the weight of the water that gets moved by the baseball.

Q

What is Boyle’s law?

A

If you decrease the volume
of a container of gas and hold the temperature constant, the pressure from the gas will increase.

Q

What is Charles’s law?

A

increases with increasing temperature, as long as the
pressure on the gas does not change.
