Apply the parking brake. Gear lever into neutral, once across the gate and feet clear of the pedals.

Cancel all auxiliaries.

A check of all three mirrors reveals it is safe to switch off the engine and engage a parking gear of 1.

No release and stow seatbelts taking care not to chip the glass or bodywork.

Prior to exiting the vehicle, I will carry out a deep left shoulder check and deep right shoulder check - passengers do likewise.
