A tax on ALL paper goods, you received a stamp on the goods if you paid the tax.
Stamp Act Congress
A meeting where the colonies sent a letter to Parliament and the King stating that only colonial governments could tax colonists
Declaratory Act
Law passed by British parliament and King that stated they had the right to tax and make decisions for the colonies
Townshend Acts
A general tax on imported goods like glass, tea, and paper
Boston Massacre
Conflict between colonists and British redcoats in Boston that resulted in the death of 5 colonists
Propaganda
Information spread to harm or help a cause by influencing public opinion
Paul Revere
Created an engraving that showed a British officer giving the order to open fire on the crowd
Boston Tea Party
The Sons of Liberty (colonists) disguised themselves as Native Americans and dumped British tea overboard
