A

John Adams made William Marbury a federal judge but fired all judges that were not federalists. Secretary of State Madison never delivered the papers of the Senate for approval. Marbury sued Madison. John Marshall and the Supreme Court heard the case; it was significant because it increased the power of the Supreme Court.
