Mexican troops kill everyone in the Alamo and execute the survivors. Became a battle cry for the Texans: "Remember the Alamo"

Led Texans against Santa Anna. Was an erratic, selfless, unpredictable, and confident military leader.

General Santa Anna divided his troops --> was cornered by Houston. 600 dead Mexicans, 6 dead Texans, 3 independent republics were formed, Santa Anna captured, Texas granted independence, sign of future loss of land for Mexico.

Known as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, led by Joseph Smith. His followers were forced to relocate due to persecution. Brigham Young led them to Great Salt Lake.
