- Induction, can appear disoriented
- Good muscle tone and most/all reflexes still present

- Onset of unconsciousness (breath holding)
- Lasts till breathing rhythmic
- Eyes central
- Palpebral present

Stage 3 (Surgical Stage) Plane 1: Light Anaesthesia

- Intubation possible
- For minor exams/procedures
- Some reflexes present
- Eyes central to VM
- Palpebral sluggish
- Jaw tone present to sluggish

- Most/all reflexes absent
- Eyes VM
- Palpebral absent
- Jaw tone sluggish to minimal

- TOO DEEP
- Respiratory paralysis
- Pulse impalpable
- Eyes central
- Palpebral absent
- Jaw tone absent
- MM pale pink to pale
