A

There is an orchestra pit, as it is a musical, live music is essential.
Allows for characters to directly address the audience and break fourth wall.
The audience form the 4th wall, so they are onlookers to the story they are being presented with.

A

The audience remain onlookers, due to seating structure they can’t become more intimate with the action.
Not everyone may be able to see and hear.
Set can only work from 2D angles.

A

Acting more naturalistic due to having to turn your back.
Allows to create actor audience relationship, intensity is easier to create as all on one level.
Stage could be on same level as stage.

A

Movement can be artificial for the actors as they keep moving to ensure they don’t have their back to the audience for a long period of time.
Levels cannot be used eg balcony for the narrator, limitation of set design and props.
Difficult to block out areas of the stage.
