Delay
A component of latency that measures the amount of time for a specific transmission or processing task to occur
Latency
The amount of time required for a packet to travel between 2 points in the network (Total of delays)

TCP: Transmission control protocol; Reliable, more overhead and delay
UDP: User datagram protocol; unreliable less overhead and delay

Software as a service; Provider offers a complete application like for example google docs
Paas
Platform as a service; Cloud provider offers infrastructure and configures vm and hardware
Iaas
Infrastructure as a service; Cloud provider offers infrastructure like network and storage. Customers pay for what they use
LAN Media
Transmission of data through cabling or wires
WAN Media
Large area of info not tied to a single location; can be used for data centers or storage for offices
NTP
Network time protocol; Syncronizes clocks of computers and other devices of a network
ICMP
Internet Control Message Protocol; Sends control and error reports
DNS
Domain Name System; Resolves internet names to IP addresses
DHCP
Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol; Used to assign IP addresses and other configurations to devices on a network

Extension of http that adds a layer of security
HTTP
Hypertext Transfer Protocol; Used by web browsers to request web pages and web servers to transfer the files that make up the web pages

Trivial File Transfer Protocol; Transfers files over a network
