By resolving internal forces by isolating part of the structure

Mechanism-more equilibrium equations than unknown forces or reactions, unstable system
Statically determinate-equal number of equilibrium equations as unknown forces or reactions
Statically indeterminate-less equilibrium equations than unknown forces or reactions
For what type of pin joint system can the whole problem be solved only with method of joints/sections?
If system is statically determinate, we can solve the whole
problem using the method of joints or method of sections
What are the three conditions/rules for pin joints structures in truss deformation (use ARA)
-bars extend or compress axially
-bars are free to rotate about the pin joints
-bars always remain attached to each other at the joints
