What is the process of applying Electrodeposition prime paint?
- Preparation of the surface
A. Cleaning the metal surface (steal, aluminum, or other alloys) throughly removing any contaminates like (oil, dirt, rust, and grease). This is done usually using a combination of acid baths or ultrasonic cleaning ensuring proper adhesion. - Pre-Treatment
A. Cleaned metal surface makes for a better adhesion and corrosion resistance. - Electrodeposition bath: the bath contains an Aqueous solution of paint, usually a mixture of resins and pigments suspended in water, along with ions that can be electrically charged.
- Electrical current application: an electrical current is passed through the bath resulting in a negative electrode.
- Deposition: paint particles, negatively charged, are attracted to the positive metals. This results in a uniform even surface of primer.

What is standard service body shelving and how many are in each compartment?

500 series compartment configuration?
The 500 series service bodies features a
1. Horizontal compartment that stretches from the vertical compartment to the end of the body with a small rear lower compartment.
600 series compartment configuration.
The 600 series service bodies features a horizontal compartment that is positioned over the wheel well and one vertical compartment in the front of the body and one at the rear of the body.
700 series compartment configuration .
The 700 series has the 500 series configuration on the curbside and 600 series on the street side.
Low profile body configuration.
Low profile bodies denoted by LP offer greater visibility from the cab while only sacrificing 4” of body height compared to a standard service body.
Raised front compartment configuration.
The configuration raises the curb side front vertical compartment to 60” tall, denoted by “60” 60L indicates raised front compartment on the street side left of the body and 60B indicates raised front compartment on both sides.
Flip top compartments configuration.
Flip tops denoted by F allow for greater internal storage organization and flexibility. Knapheide flip top have a flammable top lid door and a convenient one hand release handle.
Plus 50 transverse compartments configuration.
Plus 50 models features a transverse compartment in the curb side vertical extending to the street side compartment back. Plus 50 models have 50% more effective storage capacity. Models are denoted by 50”.
Can you get a three drawer or two drawer system?
Yes both are available in the plus 50 configuration.
Depending on the body model, compartment have either two or three 59 or 60” long. All drawers are rated for 250lb and have dividers every 4”.

Canopy roofs what does the option allow?
The canopy roof option allows you to fully enclose your cargo area. Canopy roofs are available in three heights, straight sides, and with stationary or telescopic roofs. For a tapered side one piece body design, take a look at the KUVcc product line.
