Steep Turns, Stalls, and Slow Flight Flashcards
(15 cards)
Steep Turns - Knots & RPM
90 KIAS, ~2000 RPM.
Steep Turns - Altitude and Airspeed
Maintain both, add extra power to compensate for vertical –> horizontal component of lift.
Slow Flight - RPM
1500 RPM.
Slow Flight - Configuration
Landing Configuration (Gradually full flaps)
Slow Flight - Power
Power for altitude, yoke for airspeed.
Slow Flight - Recovery
Max power, maintain altitude, reduce flaps. (Above Vx, retract flaps to 0)
Power Off Stall - RPM
1500 RPM.
Power Off Stall - Configuration
Landing Configuration (Gradually full flaps). Establish stabilized descent at 65 KIAS.
Power Off Stall - Throttle
Idle (slowly once established in descent)
Power Off Stall - Attitude
After glide is stabilized (1 2 3 4), pitch back to about 20 degrees.
Power Off Stall - Recovery
1) Reduce AOA and Full Power
2) Retract flaps to 20 degrees (immediately)
3) Retract flaps to 10 degrees when above 55 KIAS.
4) Establish Vx or Vy
5) Retract flaps to 0 when accelerating through Vx
Power On Stall - RPM
1500 RPM
Power On Stall - Configuration
Clean Configuration (No flaps)
Power On Stall - Entry
1) At 60 KIAS, increase pitch (slowly) and apply full power.
2) Increase pitch to induce stall.
Power On Stall - Recovery
1) Reduce AOA, Max Power, Level Wings.
