what is steganography?

the art of communicating by hiding secret messages in innocuous cover objects

A
a message that can be hidden with out suspicion

a cover object containing an embedded secret object

Embedding a binary image
A
- copy image to make it a cover object
- put the the value of the ith element into the LSB of each pixel value
- repeat for all pixel in image

a means of detecting embedded information –> by visual inspection of the least significant bit

all non visual methods of detecting embedded information eg looking at the image histogram
