What are two examples of reducing?
- Switch off all electronic appliances, don’t leave them on standby.
- Turn the lights off in rooms that aren’t being used
What are two examples of reusing?
- Where it is possible use rechargeable batteries instead of normal ones
- if you use plastic containers to store your lunch everyday, reuse them instead of throwing them out and using a new one
What are two examples of recycling?
- Do not throw out old shoes and clothes, bring them to your local charity shop
- All newspapers, brochures and leaflets can be recycled, thereby reducing deforestation
What are two examples of repairing?
- If the screen on your phone cracks, place a piece of tape over it instead of pushing for a new model.
- Repair leaks. A leaking tap can waste 90 litres of water a day

What happened at chernobyl?
An explosion at a power plant caused 190 tonnes of radioactive material to be released into the atmosphere.
The wind and rain transported the radioactive material all over Europe and even as far as Ireland.
