1. Enter the abdomen (open vs lap vs robotic).
2. Evaluate liver, peritoneum, and ovaries for evidence of metastasis.
3. Separate omentum from colon with electrocautery. - in the process, ligate right gastroepiploic and short gastric vessels along the greater curvature.
4. Divide proximal duodenum and ligate right gastric vessels.
5. Divide left gastric artery at its origin.
6. Divide esophagus.
7. Perform reconstruction.
