What can an officer search on?
Suspicion only and with reasonable grounds.
Does stop search apply only to people or vehicles aswell?
Vehicles can be searched aswell given suspicion and reasonable grounds.
Does a stop search have to be where the suspect is or can they be moved nearby?
They can be moved nearby
In a top search in public view can a male search a female and can a female search a male or does it have to be same sex?
For the purposes of a stop search a male can search a female, and a female can search a male.
In a more thorough search a private place has to used. Can this still be done by male or female officers on different sex suspects?
Yes however they are entitled to request a meme we of the same sex to be present.
Can somebody be detained for the purposes of a search under section 1 in their dwelling?
No. Section 1 is for public places.
If somebody is in a dwelling but it is believed they do not live there can you search them under section 1 of PACE?
Yes. If it is their own dwelling you cannot search, however, if it is reasonably believed to not be their home you are given the power to search under section 1.

A section 23 misuse of drugs act can be done in a dwelling? True or false?
True. A section 23 search gives the power to search in a public or private place.
Can you stop search somebody because they smell of cannabis?
No this is not reasonable grounds for a search.
Can you search somebodies phone in a search?
No you cannot.
What is section 60?
An officer of inspector rank or above believes incidents of serious violence may take place
Or
An incident violence has taken place and a dangerous weapon is being carried in the vicinity
A constable may stop and search any person or vehicle on suspicion.
