Restrictions for JP-4/JET B

A

ASOD

  1. All TOs shall stabilize in hover with no fuel px cautions for min. of 10 sec before transitioning to fwd flight
  2. Single engine training is prohibited.
  3. Operating characteristics may change (Lower op temps, slower accel, shorter range may be experienced
  4. Due to the vapor qualities of JP-4/ Jet B, the next 2 refuels with primary fuels shall be treated as if JP-4 in the tanks.

2 quarts of oil
26
Wait __ after shutdown to check xsmn oil
30 min
27
Xsmn hot scale
30 min to 2 hrs
28
Xsmn cold scale
2 hrs or longer
29
IGB is full when; needs to be replenished when
oil level is within the inner circle when pylon is spread; when bottom of outer circle can be seen
30
TGB properly serviced; reservice when
properly serviced when oil within lines/green area with pylon spread; if oil level below lower line
31
Don't service IGB/TGB when
folded
32
Hyd pump reservoir capacities
1 US quart to FULL
33
When indicator at REFILL (red)
need 2/3 of pint to get to FULL
34
Fluid indicator on hyd pump is
1/8 inch wide
35
Util hyd pump servicing
4 white stripes indicates overserviced 3 white stripes indicates full 2 indicates refill needed 1 stripe indicates empty reservoir Reservoir shall indicate full regardless of configuration (C) Failute to return the manual selector valve handle to the vertical position prior to pressurizing the utility hydraulic system will result in damage to the servicing reservoir.
36
Regardless of a/c config, util hyd pump reservoir
shall indicate full
37
Blade damper serviced with
combo of hyd fluid and nitrogen
38
Blade damper properly serviced when
in green or yellow (Full)
39
Blade Damper: Nitrogen charge gauge should indicate
px for ambient temp listed
40
Windshield washer serviced with
water
41
Fire extinguisher bottles that have lost their charge for any reason
shall be replaced with fully serviced units
42
External power
115/200V, 3 phase, 400 Hz AC power
43
External power CB
4-amp CB that places 2-amp draw on power cable
44
Moving aircraft into hangar with Heavy weather
Should be moved into hangar prior to the onset of heavy weather conditions in order to prevent damage to the aircraft (Wind in excess of 60 KIAS).
45
Initial Tiedown
Consists of 4 tie downs, two on each main mount This requirement exists just prior to and after shipboard aircraft movement, during shipboard aircraft startup, and immediately after landing aboard ship
46
Permanent Tiedown
Consists of 12 tiedowns (two on each attachment point) and is required aboard ship when not at flight quarters
47
Heavy Weather Tiedown
18 tiedowns (3 at each point) and is required with weather conditions in which surface winds reach an average velocity of 35 knots or greater and/or sea state of 8 feet, or wind over deck exceeds 60 knots, pitch exceeds 4 deg or roll exceeds 12 deg
48
Refueling with Sonobuoy launcher
Refueling with the sonobuoy launcher safety valve not in the safe (horizontal) position may result in inadvertent sonobuoy launch causing injury to personnel.
49
Restricted Fuel Types
Jet A, A1, B, JP-4
50
Emergency Fuel Types
JP-8+100 and F-27
51
Emergency Fuel Restriction
USN/USMC aircraft are not authorized to use JP8+100 except in emergency situations. Pilot approval shall be obtained before servicing, the aircraft shall be conspicuously placarded after servicing, and maintenance departments shall be informed anytime the aircraft is serviced with emergency grade fuel.
52
RAST Operations for External Aux Tanks
RAST operations may be performed on aircraft configured with an external auxilary fuel tank(s) provided the following limits and conditions are met: The main and tail landing gear tires and oleo struts have been serviced before flight. (C) If the aircraft is not over the RSD, ensure RSD beams are open before servicing struts, as the lower end of the RAST probe will raise beyond the level of the RSD beams. The static vertical clearance between the deck and the lowest point on the auxilary fuel tank shell (not including the fin) shall not be less than 12 inches. Aircraft gross weight during RAST operations shall not exceed the gross weight of the helicopter at the time of the static vertical clearance measurement. (C) If RAST operations are to be conducted, no servicing shall be performed on external aux tank configured aircraft, which will lower the vertical clearance to less than 12 inches between the bottom of the aux tank (not including the fins) and the deck.
53
Tow Bar requirements
Due to the location of the tailwheel, a unique H-60 extended towbar (min 24') shall be used when the aircraft is to be moved with a tractor.
54
Deviating from Tiedown Configurations
Deviating from a prescribed tiedown configuration may result in an oversight of tiedown removal, which may lead to an attempt to launch with tiedowns attached, uncontrolled flight, or dynamic rollover.
55
Hangar/On Deck Tiedown (Air Capable Ship)
Hangar: Heavy weather not secured with RAST, but secured to deck: 20,500. Up to moderate weather on-deck: 20,500
