Q

Define arch

A

a structure that can support a lot of weight, the force of weight on an arch is carried along the sides of the arch to its supports, this spreads out the effect of the load

Q

Center of Gravity: What is it? How is center of gravity related to stability?

A

The center of gravity is the point in an object that if placed on something will balance perfectly. This is related to stability because if you want something to be stable, you’ve gotta find its center of gravity.

Q

Strong Shapes: What is the strongest shape? Why is this the strongest shape?

A

The strongest shape is the triangle. The triangle is the strongest shape because it is able to distribute the weight evenly down all sides, making it very stable. Because of this, triangles are used in a lot of places to make something more stable.
