Study Gide Flashcards
(15 cards)
What is the outermost layer of the atmosphere.
Exosphere
What is the densest layer near the earth
Troposphere
What is the hottest and tinniest layer of the atmosphere
Thermosphere
We’re is the ozone
The ozone is in the middle of the stratosphere and troposphere
Where dose weather occur
Weather occurs in the troposphere
Were do you find ultraviolet radiation
The ozone
What happens when the atmosphere and hydrosphere interact
When the interact rain can be formed because because the atmosphere is air and air is clouds and the hydrosphere is water which is rain.
What factors causes water to change phases
It is the sun because the sun causes evaporation or when liquid changes from water to water vapor. The sun is also the power of the whole water cycle.
How is humidity related to condensation
If the humidity level is at 100 the water starts to condense
How are temperature and humidity related
Humidity and temperature are related because if the is at 100 then it would feel hotter to you and there will be a higher humidity if the air is colder.
What are the four main types of air masses
cP:continental polar which is cold, less dense/lighter and was formed over land
cT:continental tropical which is warm, more dense/heavier and was formed over land
mP:maritime polar is cold and it was formed near polls and over seas
mT:maritime tropical is warmer formed over sea and near polls.
One sentence of a definition for a front
A front is a boundary between two air masses of different densities.
What is a difference between a cold front and warm front
A cold front is when cold air and warm air collide and the warm air rises and a warm front is when the air already risking over the cold front.
What is the type of weather with high pressure
The weather is normally dry weather and with sunshine.
What type of weather is usually associated with low pressure
Cold rain and precipitation
