-weak national government
-No executive or judicial system
-Could not regulate interstate commerce
-Each state received one vote

Shays Rebellion (1786-1787)

A

exposed the weakness of the government under the Articles of Confederation and led many—including George Washington—to call for strengthening the federal government in order to put down future uprisings
-people were upset with the taxation so they rioted and attacked tax collectors. Each state was not strong enough on its own to fight the rebellions.

There was a rebellion in Cuba, which was owned by Spain. This made americans upset and have overall resentment for the spaniards. President Mckinley received messages from citizens to interefere in it, but he did not want to. He sent the USS Maine warship to protect american interests in Cuba (1898) The ship was blown up and the US declared war

Bacon’s Rebellion

A

In Virginia many settlers took native land which caused fights. The farmers in Virginia asked their leader to provide troops to protect them. The leader said no so Nathaniel Bacon led a rebellion of farmers and fought the Native Americans. they burned plantation owned by their governor.
