What are the 4 sections you can break SUD criteria into? Place all 11 into these.
A
- Impaired control = repeated attempts to control use, using larger amounts for longer periods, spending a lot of time using and cravings and urges to use substance.
- Social impairment = social and interpersonal problems from use, occupational or recreational activities given up due to use, failure to fulfill role obligations at work, home, or school due to recurrent use.
- Risky use = recurrent use in hazardous situations, continued use despite knowledge of having recurrent physical/psychological problems.
- Tolerance and withdrawal = use more to get the same effect, less effect with continued amount.

- Can tell what level of difficulty a person may have
- Have a common tool used by most clinicians
- Can use to assess risk
- Not based on clinicians’ personal judgment but on evidence
