c4-c5

24
Q

Cricothyroid membrane

A

25
Mastoid process
Projects down &forwards, behind the earlobe
26
Angle of jaw
Posterior border at the junction of the ramus of the mandible
27
Transpyloric plane
Halfway between jugular notch and upper border pubic symphysis
28
Jugular notch
aka suprasternal notch | Between the clavicles above the sternum, can palpate the trachea behind it
29
Angle of Louis
2nd rib - sternal angle - angle formed between the manubrium& body of the sternum - This level marks the level of the intervertebral discs which lies between thoracic vertebra T4 and T5.
30
Erb's point
- 3rd left ICS, left sternal border - at this point you can hear S1 and S2 - It is the sound of the mitral & tricuspid valves closing as the body empties the ventricles into the lungs (S1) - or the beginning of diastole/relaxation of the heart; the sound of aortic and pulmonic valves closing (S2)
