What is the text
A
A group of elements (in literature mostly words) that can be assigned a meaning. Though we focus on literary ones, most creations that can be interpreted (visual, audio, film) can also be considered text.

What is the intertextuality
A
The relationship between different texts. They can reference each other, influence newer ones, simply coexist, or complement their meanings

What is Symbol
A
A thing that represents or stands for something else through association, especially a material object representing something abstract.

Symbols exist because of intertextual relationships. The association of different texts allow us to represent one object or idea with a different one.
