Victim/Informant
• Victim is the person offended against
• Informant is the person advising Police of the incident (may also be a victim)

Appreciation/Assessment
• A problem solving method used to assess any given situation or incident for better actions to be taken.
(Mental or Physical)

Witness
• The person who was present at the time of the incident

Scene
• An area that can lead to relevant exhibits or evidence that identify the offender
• The area where the crime/incident occurred

Exhibits
• Physical evidence that contains information of what was used to commit the offence, what took place at the scene and how the offence happened.

Elements
• Identifying what offence has been committed that links to the appropriate legislation act

Powers
• Authority to lawfully carry out courses such as arrests, search and seize, and entering premises
