What is the oral manifestation of Behcet’s disease?

A

erythmatous, slightly raised area evolving into an oval or round ulcer within 2-3 days, with rolled borders and a grayish yellow necrotic base.

erythematous halo surrounds the ulcer.

What is Systemic Lupus Erythmatous?

SLE

A

A chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease with a highly variable course,
characterised by the production of a wide profile of autoantibodies directed against nuclear & cytoplasmic antigens.

Unpredictable disease.

Systemic vasculitis with immune complex deposition.

A

positive DIF
linear deposits of IgG or IgM and/or C3

What are the oral manifestations of SLE?

lupus

A
  • whitish plaque with erythema or erosive lesion in the center and keratotic striae in the periphery
  • telangiectasia (small red/purple capillary clusters, spidery appearance) on lips, buccal mucosa and gingiva
  • red mucosal macules and plaques, mucosal ulcers and lesions resembling lichen planus
  • recurrent aphthous stomatitis and oral ulcers
