What does the A/P P/RST steady red light indicate on a CAT III autopilot approach and what action should be taken?
1: Stabilizer is out of trim below 800’ ft RA on a dual channel approach.
2: Disconnect the autopilot and go around.
What does the STAB OUT OF TRIM (amber) light indicate?
The autopilot is not trimming the stabilizer properly
What is the criteria for arming the VNAV on the ground?
1: Valid flight plan has been entered
2: Performance data has been entered and executed
3: Both Flight Director switches have been positioned to ON
4: VNAV guidance becomes active at 400 AGL
Would it be normal for the G/S and LOC display to turn amber and flash just before 1500’ ft on a dual channel approach?
Yes, that is the ILS deviation monitor system self-test
If windshear is encountered during an ILS approach, what will the FD command?
Glideslope and LOC; no windshear guidance will be provided until TO/GA is pressed
What will the pitch bar provide for windshear protection?
1: Maintain target speed until V/S decreases to approximately 600 feet per minute
2: 15 degrees pitch up
3: Intermittent stick shaker
When does the BAT DISCHARGE light (amber) illuminate?
When excessive battery discharge is detected on the main battery and/or auxiliary battery
How long will two fully charged batter
Two fully-charged batteries have sufficient capacity to provide standby power for a minimum of 60 minutes
What does the BUS TRANSFER switch, in the AUTO (guarded) position, allow?
Allows the electrical system to automatically maintain power to AC transfer busses from any operating generator or external power.
What positions of the trailing edge flaps provide more lift than drag? Which positions provide more drag than lift?
Flaps 1-15 = more lift than drag
Flaps 15-40 = more drag than lift
Which devices move when the Alternate Flaps switch is placed in the DOWN position? UP?
Which systems move these devices?
Momentarily positioning to DOWN will FULLY extend the LED’s using Standby Hydraulic System. (Note: the LED’s cannot be retracted by the Standby Hyd System)
Holding the switch DOWN will eventually also extend the TE flaps.
UP will retract the TE flaps electrically
How many degrees of control wheel displacement initiates spoiler deflection?
When the control wheel is displaced more than approximately 10 degrees, spoiler deflection is initiated.
What is the purpose of the STAB TRIM OVERRIDE switch on the Aft Electronic Panel, besides holding the trash bag?
When positioned to OVERRIDE, electric trim can be used regardless of control column position.
When does the ALTITUDE DISAGREE (amber) alert appear?
When the CA and FO altitude indications disagree by more than 200 ft for more than 5 seconds.
With Minimums Reference Indicator on EFIS panel set to BARO, what doe the triangular pointer and line on the Altitude Display represent?
Selected barometric approach minimums indicated with green pointer and line. The pointer and line turn amber when the aircraft descends below the selected barometric minimum altitude.
What does DISPLAYS CONTROL PANEL (amber) indicate?
Indicates a failed EFIS Control Panel on the affected side. Note: when DISPLAYS CONTROL PANEL appears in the lower right hand corner of the display, altitude information is removed.
On the altitude tape, what does the amber crosshatched area represent on approach at destination?
FMC landing altitude for destination runway or airport OR landing altitude for departure runway or airport until 400nm from departure or half the distance from departure, whichever comes first.
What effect does thrust reverser and spoiler deployment have on the auto brake rate?
To maintain selected deceleration rate, autobrake pressure is reduced as thrust reversers and spoilers contribute to deceleration.
How is braking available if both Hydraulic System A and B are lost?
Trapped hydraulic pressure in the Brake Accumulator (Hydraulic Sys B) can still provide several (6) applications or parking brake application for eight hours.
Which brake system(s) provide skid, locked wheel, touchdown, and hydroplane protection?
Both normal and alternate brake systems
Where are the hydraulic systems fluid reservoirs located?
Each hydraulic system has a fluid reservoir located in the main wheel well.
When do the letters RF (white) appear?
REFILL (RF) indication is displayed when hydraulic quantity is below 76%. Valid only when aircraft is on ground with both engines shutdown or after landing with flaps up during taxi-in.
What does the ELEC 2 (System A) pump ON/OFF switch control?
The ELEC 2 (System A) HYD PUMP switch controls the related Electric Motor-Driven Pump
What does an illuminated MCDU EXEC light indicate?
The MCDU Execute (white) Light indicates that active data has been modified, but not executed.
