Party that answers every question with “I know nothing” anti-immigrant, anti-catholic, etc.

Borders slave holding Missouri that try to move to Kansas to vote slave.
Bleeding Kansas.
People that hopped to vote slave in Kansas. 60% of vote were made illegally.
Border Ruffians
Border Ruffians raid as a scare tactic towards free staters.
Lawrence Raid
Radical Abolitionist. Inspired to lead attack on pro slavery settlements.
John Brown
Brown drags out pro-slavery residents and has them hacked to death by broadswords in front of their families.
Pottawatomie Massacre
Pitch battle that lasts 2 months until Brown leaves Kansas.
Battle of Osawatomie
Anti-salvery, makes a speech called “Crimes against Kansas” insulting the state of S. Carolina and berates it’s senator.
Charles Sumner
Buttlers Nephew and house of rep for S. Carolina. Attacks Sumner nearly killing him and doesn’t stop till his cane breaks.

1st republican party candidate.
John Fremont
Slaves should be free if they spent a long period of time in a free state, but was decided that slaves have no right to bring suit and property can not be taken without due process.
Dred Scott Decision
Pro slave constitution. Makes Kansas a slave state. Free stater’s boycott the election, re-vote is cast, Pro slavers Boycott election, Vote is recast, 3rd vote free stater’s reject constitution.
Lecompton Constitution.
Self Educated, apprenticed to become a lawyer. Served 4 terms in state legislation, becomes member of house for 1 term. Has Debate with Douglas stating he is Anti slavery but is still racist.
Abraham Lincoln
Plans to capture federal arsenal in Harper’s Ferry. Planned to arm slaves and free Maryland. After taking arsenal, is then surrounded by militia. Loses 2 sons during battle, hung for treason, and becomes a martyr for abolitionists.
