  • I am certain that my previous actions have successfully mitigate this incident however, as the incident commander, I have to forecast all probable outcomes and will have contingency plans such as;
    * elevated master streams positioned strategically in case we have to change tactics and go defensive
    * I will have additional resources positioned at staging to reinforce my positions and
    * I’ll Have a RIT branch in place along with a RIT Branch director in case we have missing or trapped firefighters.

  • Now that this incident has been mitigated, I will ensure that the following is completed before returning the units to service :
    • I will conduct a face to face transfer of command to the new incident commander and explain the conditions and counter, the actions I took, and the results of those actions.
    • I will also assess the needs of the crews and make sure the trucks return to combat ready.
    • I will make sure that the fire chief and his staff have been notified of this event
    • I will provide assistance to fire investigators with determining the cause and origin of the fire.
    • I will notify Agencies such as the Red Cross and Salvation Army for any displaced citizens.
    • I will provide a firewatch if needed
    • I will assist in securing the structure or unit .
    • I will offer critical incident, stress, debriefing, and public education
