good morning/afternoon I am the captain in charge of___ and I have been dispatched to a building assignment to _______with reports of__________

I will advise Dispatch to begin my on-scene time and advise me of 10 minute intervals in order to obtain a progress report of conditions, actions, and needs.  I will also have Fcio advise me of my 30 minute intervals in which I will conduct a personnel accountability report .

I will combine my incident priorities and size up to determine my strategic goals which are rescue, exposure protection, confinement, extinguishment, overhaul, salvage, and ventilation. Now that my strategic goals are in place, let’s move in to my resource allocation.

I am the incident commander:
* Code 1 units ; SO, RIT, EMS Cpt, AT, PIO, U.T. As well as PD for traffic control. * 2nd Alarm Units; with my second alarm, I will be receiving another class 2 dispatch per our policies; * I will also make sure to secure a subject matter expert like a building manager to provide me with any type of vital information that I may need.

- Benchmarks:
- Primary and secondary searches have been completed and everybody has been accounted for
- The fire is under control, and I have an all clear
- All losses have been stopped
- Cont plan;
- I am certain that my previous actions have successfully mitigate this incident however, as the incident commander, I have to forecast all probable outcomes and will have contingency plans such as;
* elevated master streams positioned strategically in case we have to change tactics and go defensive
* I will have additional resources positioned at staging to reinforce my positions and
* I’ll Have a RIT branch in place along with a RIT Branch director in case we have missing or trapped firefighters.
- Demo;
- Now that this incident has been mitigated, I will ensure that the following is completed before returning the units to service :
- I will conduct a face to face transfer of command to the new incident commander and explain the conditions and counter, the actions I took, and the results of those actions.
- I will also assess the needs of the crews and make sure the trucks return to combat ready.
- I will make sure that the fire chief and his staff have been notified of this event
- I will provide assistance to fire investigators with determining the cause and origin of the fire.
- I will notify Agencies such as the Red Cross and Salvation Army for any displaced citizens.
- I will provide a firewatch if needed
- I will assist in securing the structure or unit .
- I will offer critical incident, stress, debriefing, and public education
- Conclusion;
I have efficiently integrated the information provided to me using my Incident Priorities and Size-Up to determine my SG’s. I have accomplished my Strategic Goals with sound tactics while following my emergency operations procedures and directing all resources available to me as safely as possible. This is how I would successfully resolve the incident at__________ as a Captain in the Miami Fire Dept.
