What is the purpose of the anti-roll bar?
To help reduce body roll as the vehicle corners or goes over bumps
Why are panhard rods rubber mounted?
- Reduces noise transmission
- Eliminates the need for lubrication
- Provides flexibility for drive movement and geometric variations during spring deflection
What is the purpose of the panhard rod?
Controls sideways movement of the axle and body
What checks are to be done during maintenance?
- Security of attachment
- Excessive wear in rubber bushes

What is the purpose of baffles in a twin tube reservoir?
- Prevents violent movement

Bump
- Piston travels down
- Oil is forced from under the piston through reed valves to the top of the damping chamber
Rebound
- Piston travels up
- Oil is forced from the top of the piston through the reed valves to the bottom of the damping chamber
What is the purpose of tilting the bottom wishbone higher than the ball joint?
To take up any play when accelerating and braking
