Anything a shooter does or fails to do that could result in detection.

Most noticeable at night/in the dark.
Caused by movement, equipment, or talking.
Minor noise might be dismissed, but talking will not.

Human eye is attracted to movement.
Quicky or jerky movement are more noticeable than slow movements.
