Q

What is a taxes?

A

= simple response in which an organism will move it’s entire body towards a favourable stimulus and or away from an unfavourable stimulus
= when organisms move towards a stimilus tis is a positive taxis when the organism moves away it is a negative stimlus

Q

What is kenesis?

A

= organism changes speed of movement and the rate it changes direction
= if an organism moves from an area where there are beneficial stimuli, to an area of harmful stimuli, its kenesis repsonse will be to increwae the rate it changes direction and return to favourabke conditons quickly
= if an organism is surrounded by a negative stimuli, the rate of reaction decreases tokeep moving in a straight line
=to increase chances of finding a new location wity favourable conditions
