Q

Nephrotic Vs Nephritic syndrome

A

Nephrotic
syndrome of proteinuria and hypoalbuminaemia
1. Low serum albumin
2. High urine protein content (>3+ protein on urine dipstick)
3. Oedema

Nephritic
syndrome of haematuria, some proteinuria, hypertension
1. Haematuria (either visible or detectable on urinalysis)
2. Oedema
3. Hypertension
4. Oliguria (<300mls/day)
