Q

Why is empathy so important in treating addictions?

A

Empathy is an understanding (accurate reflecting, not relating to yourself). It means being able to listen to someone and understand at a basic and deeper level what kind of feelings that person is having and be able to accurately reflect that back to a person. Helps person feel understood and heard. Validates clients’ feelings
