- showcases that even in the most extreme cases (Scrooge and his greed), Dickens portrays that moral transmogrification is both possible and necessary for the betterment of society.
- Dickens uses it to influence others in society showing the positive impact it can have.

Scrooge is a singular character that represents the upper-class misanthropic and unscrupulous businessmen.
