A
Occur in the middle of tectonic plates where the pressure of the tectonic plate being squashed and forced to move builds up and is released through cracks in rock.

750 million years ago North America split away from Rodinia (super continent) leaving fault lines.

A
Pressure from magma beneath is strong enough
Faults at plate boundaries are strong enough to affect intraplate.
