Psychopathology
The study of mental and behavioural disorders. Includes all the clinical features and conditions that define an individual’s psychological state
Comorbidity
The presence of multiple mental disorders in an individual, which increases the severity of psychopathology.
Paraphilia
An intense and persistent sexual interest outside normal, consenting adult relationships
Biastophilia
A preference for rape and non-consensual sexual encounters
Sexual sadism
Deriving pleasure from inflicting pain or suffering on others

A paraphilia that causes personal distress or harm to others

Perceived social rejection or bullying, obsession with previous mass shootings, desire for notoriety or revenge against perceived injustices, use of planning and stalking behaviours before committing the crime
