VCAT-How it resolves disputes

CAV can assist tenants with a complaint against a landlord who may be breaching the Residential Tenancies Act 1997(VIC)
Obligations of Landlords
> provide tenant with conditions report
provide at least 60 days of notice of any rent increase
respond to the request for urgent repairs with ought delay
Rights of tenants
> request landlord to make urgent repairs
end rental agreement before moving in if minimum standards are not met
make certain modifications to property with ought landlord’s consent
