What is a common hold?

A

A form of land ownership. In effect a new form of tenure. It became effective in 2004. Allows flats to become fee simple in association. The block of flats will become a commonhold association.

A

Terminates on the occurrence of an event. Exempli gratia To Joe Bloggs until he marries Jane Doe; or
To Anne Green in fee simple during the time she remains a faithful catholic.

Fee simple on conditional subsequent

A

A fee simple where the grantee is given an apparently absolute fee simple, but a clause is added to the effect that if the stated condition is broken, the estate shall be forfeited.
