An archaeologist is a person who studies the past by digging up and looking at old things like tools, bones, and buildings.
what is a historian
A historian is a person who studies and writes about the past.
They read old records, books, letters, and other information to understand what happened and why.
What’s the difference between an archaeologist and a historian?
Archaeologist: Digs up old things like bones, tools, and buildings to learn about the past.
Historian: Reads old books, letters, and stories to learn about the past.

📘 Primary Source
A primary source is something that comes directly from the time you’re studying.
It’s first-hand evidence.
Examples:
A diary
A letter
A photo
An old tool or object
A newspaper from that time
➡️ It was made or written by someone who was there.
whats a secondary source
📗 Secondary Source
A secondary source is made after the time you’re studying.
It talks about the past but isn’t from the past.
Examples:
A textbook
A documentary
An article written today about ancient Egypt
A history book
➡️ It’s written by someone who wasn’t there, using primary sources.
Easy tip to remember:
Primary = first-hand
Secondary = second-hand
